The Network ID password (which staff and students need for logging into
SalukiNet and
a variety of other campus systems) must be 8 or more characters in length, with at least one
upper case letter, at least one lower case letter, at least one number, and at least
one special character from the following:
~ ! @ # ^ & * ( ) _ + - { } [ ] , . ?
No spaces are allowed in the password, and it cannot resemble a dictionary word. This
password must be changed every 120 days.
The Google password (which staff and students need for getting SIUC e-mail via e-mail
client software on your PC or Mac) must be 8 or more characters in length, with at least one
upper case letter, at least one lower case letter, at least one number, and at least
one special character from the following:
@ # & ( )
No spaces are allowed in the password. This password is not used to log into SIUC
e-mail via the WebMail interface (the Network ID
password is used for WebMail).
The Banner password (which staff need for logging into the new student information
system) must be 8 or more characters in length, with at least one
upper case letter, at least one lower case letter, at least one number, and at least
one special character from the following:

No spaces are allowed in the password. This password must be changed every 120 days.
