As part of the graduation application fee, an original diploma will be prepared for each graduate.
Please note: Doctoral graduates will normally receive their diploma at the Commencement ceremony, if all financial obligations to the University have been met. For all other graduates, after all of their grades have been processed, their application for graduation will be evaluated to determine if all of their degree requirements have been successfully completed; if they have, the degree will be awarded and the diploma will be mailed to them, if all financial obligations to the University have been met. (This evaluation, awarding, and mailing process may take up to ten weeks after the Commencement ceremony to be completed for everyone.)
Graduates may request additional copies of their diploma for an additional charge. Any such additional copies are considered "re-prints."
In order to request a re-print of your diploma, download the Request for Diploma Re-print form and fill out all necessary information. Then mail or deliver the completed request form, along with a check or money order made payable to SIU Carbondale, to:
Student Services Building, room 0251
Mail Code 4701
1263 Lincoln Drive
Carbondale, IL 62901
Re-printed copies of your diploma will cost $25 each. Diploma re-prints will not be released to you if you have outstanding Bursar holds on your account or any other outstanding financial obligations to the University. You can check for any such holds within SalukiNet Self-Service.
Information on the apostille/authentication process for diploma re-prints is available here.
For any questions, please contact the Graduation Office weekdays between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM CT by phone at (618) 453-2054, or send them an e-mail.
