Whether you want to drop or withdraw from a class, there are important steps to take and timelines to consider. Dropping and withdrawing may impact your grade, refund, and financial aid. As a reminder, F-1 and J-1 international students cannot drop below full-time without prior approval from your academic advisor the Center for International Education Department.
Drop a Class
You can drop one or more classes during the designated add/drop period, and they will not show on your transcript. Classes dropped after the designed add/drop period will appear on your transcript with a W grade and is not calculated in your grade point average (GPA).
Adjusting your registration after week one that involves dropping a class and adding an alternative class will require that your academic advisor submit a Course Request Form (CRF) to the Registration office. These changes must be processed manually so that tuition and fees are assessed correctly.
Students may drop courses through the "Register for Classes" tile in their SalukiNet account until online registration closes.
Tuition Adjustments
A refund of tuition and associated fees is granted according to the University's refund policy when students drop individual courses or withdraw from all courses within established deadlines.
For questions about tuition charges/adjustments, contact the Bursar Office at (618) 453-2221.
