Holds | Office of the Registrar

Some holds on your student account are just for information, but most require action on your part to meet a policy or settle a financial obligation. Some of these holds might block you from getting your transcript, while others can stop you from registering for classes or making any changes to your schedule.

You can check your active holds in SalukiNet Self-Service, while your advisor can see both active and inactive holds in Banner Admin Pages. Keep in mind, SalukiNet will only show you a description of the hold, not the actual code.

If a hold is stopping you from registering, you'll get a warning in your Must Do List on SalukiNet.

If you have questions about a hold, it's best to contact the office listed as the originator of the hold in SalukiNet. While your advisor can help with the RM hold, for most other holds, it's better to go directly to the office that put it in place. That way, you'll know exactly what steps you need to take to get the hold removed.

A7	Provisional Admission	Undergraduate Admissions 618-536-4405	An off-campus undergraduate student provisionally admitted with incomplete academic credentials has not yet submitted all of those credentials. Prevents the student's ability to register.
AR	Admission Required	Undergraduate Admissions 618-536-4405 or Graduate School 618-536-7791	Undergraduate and graduate students who are currently inactive must be readmitted in order to re-enroll in classes. Prevents the student's ability to register.
AS	Academic Suspension	Registrar 618-453-2993	The undergraduate student has been academically suspended due to a continued low cumulative GPA. See the Scholastic Probation and Suspention System. Prevents the student's ability to register.
AX	Administrative Hold	Undergraduate Admissions 618-536-4405 or Registrar 618-453-2963	An administrative hold that is unique. See the "reason" on the hold for more info. Prevents the student's ability to register. Prevents the release of a student's transcript.
BC	Bursar Collections	Bursar 618-453-2221	Bursar account is past due and with an external collection agency. Contact the Bursar for info on which collection agency to contact to set up payments. Prevents the student's ability to register.
BD	Bursar Bad Debt	Bursar 618-453-2221	Past due balance is owed to the University. Account needs to be paid in full in order to register. Contact the Bursar for the amount. Prevents the student's ability to register.
BH	Bursar Hold	Bursar 618-453-2221	Bursar account is currently past due more than $0.01.
BM	Bursar Manual Hold	Bursar 618-453-2221	Administrative hold. See the "reason" on the hold or contact the Bursar for more info. Prevents the student's ability to register. Prevents the release of a student's transcript.
BP	Bursar Perkins	Bursar 618-453-2221	Perkins loan is either past due or the student needs to complete their exit counseling. Contact the Perkins Office at 453-2221. Prevents the student's ability to register.
BR	Bursar Reg	Bursar 618-453-2221	Bursar account is currently past due more than $1500. Account now needs to be paid down to less than $1500 in order to register for classes. Prevents the student's ability to register.
DR	Must Do Consent/ Respect Training	Equity & Compliance 618-453-4807	Incoming students must complete mandatory training on sexual violence and bystander intervention per federal law. Learn More
GD	Grad Student Academic Suspension	Graduate School 618-536-7791	The graduate student has been academically suspended due to a continued low cumulative GPA. See the Scholastic Probation and Suspention System. Prevents the student's ability to register.
GG	Grad Student Graduated	Graduate School 618-536-7791	The graduate student has finished their degree and may not yet continue their studies. Prevents the student's ability to register.
GS	Grad Student Miscellaneous Hold	Graduate School 618-536-7791	An administrative hold for a graduate student. See the "reason" on the hold for more info. Prevents the student's ability to register.
HO	Housing Non- Compliance Hold	University Housing 618-453-2301	The student is in violation of the Student Housing Policy without an approved exemption. Prevents the student's ability to register.
HS	Health Service Missing Shot Records	Student Health Services 618-453-4326	Per Illinois law, proof of immunizations has not yet been completed. Submit Your Immunization Records Prevents the student's ability to register.
IN	International Student	International Admissions 618-453-2954	An administrative hold for an international student. See the "reason" on the hold for more info. Prevents the student's ability to register.
LS	Miscellaneous Law Hold	Simmons Law School618-453-8765	An administrative hold for a Law student. See the "reason" on the hold for more info. Prevents the student's ability to register.
RA	Athlete Restrict Registration	Registrar 618-453-2993	The student athlete's ability to make registration changes is restricted in order to help ensure they are compliant with NCAA rules/regulations. Prevents the student's ability to register.
RG	Registration is not open today	Registrar 618-453-2993	Registration is temporarily closed for most students. See the "reason" on the hold for its expected duration. Prevents the student's ability to register.
RM	Must Formally Declare A Major	Registrar 618-453-2993	Degree-seeking undergraduates with a certain number of credit hours must formally declare a major per Declaration of Major Policy. The student should see their academic advisor. Prevents the student's ability to register.
SA	SJA Suspension Hold	Student Rights & Responsibilities 618-536-2338	The student who has violated the Student Conduct Code has been sanctioned with an involuntary separation from the University. Prevents the student's ability to register.
SL	SJA Disciplinary Hold	Student Rights & Responsibilities 618-536-2338	The student has violated the Student Conduct Code. Prevents the student's ability to register.
